Documentation / Library, tags and boards
Tags
Add tags by hand or by hotkey, rename and remove them in bulk, and find what has none.
Tags are how you find things later. An item can carry as many as you like, and a tag belongs to the project its items are in.
Add a tag#
Open an item and type into the Tags field in the panel. Suggestions come from the tags already in the project, so a vocabulary settles rather than sprawling into blue, Blue and blues.
You can also tag several items at once:
- When you capture, the extension's save form takes tags for the whole batch.
- When you upload, drop or paste, the confirm dialog does the same.
- Let AI do it — see AI annotation.
Tag hotkeys#
Tagging a hundred images is the job you do without looking. In the viewer, the number keys 1–9 and 0 toggle a tag on the item on screen, and N jumps to the tag field to add a new one.
Which tag sits on which key is pinned by hand, per project, under Tag hotkeys in the viewer panel — click Edit to change a slot. Nothing is derived from the tag list, so a slot only moves when you move it. That matters: a mapping that reshuffled itself every time a tag was added would tag the wrong thing the moment you stopped looking.
Manage tags#
The tag button in the toolbar opens Manage tags: every tag in view, with a filter box, and the count of items carrying each one. From here a tag can be renamed everywhere it appears, or removed from everything at once.
The list is scoped to what you are looking at. Open it inside a project and it manages that project's tags; open it from All items and it manages the library's.
Note
A tag disappears on its own once nothing carries it. There is no separate list of tags to prune.
Find the untagged#
The Untagged chip beside the type filters shows only items with no tags at all. It is the way to work through a backlog: capture all week, then filter to untagged and clear it.
