Your first capture

The three ways to save something from a page, and where it lands when you do.

There are three ways to capture, and they exist because saving one picture and saving forty are different jobs.

Select several, then decide#

Press AltShiftS on any page. An overlay comes up: whatever is under the pointer is outlined, and a toolbar sits at the bottom of the window.

1. Click each image or video you want. A picked one turns green and takes a number.
2. Watch the counter — it reads 3 selected when you have three.
3. Finish in one of two ways:
   • Save… opens a short form: project, tags, a description and a note, applied to the whole batch.
   • → project sends the batch straight to the active project, with no form.
4. Cancel, or Esc, leaves without saving.

Hold Ctrl (⌘ on a Mac) and drag to draw a crop instead: a box you can move, resize by its handles, or delete with its ✕. A crop is saved as its own image, which is how you take one panel out of a comic or one chart out of a screenshot.

One click, no form#

Press AltShiftD. The same overlay comes up in one-click mode: there is no batch and no form, and every click sends what is under it straight to the active project. The toolbar shows the destination and a way out, and nothing else.

This is the mode for a long page of things you already know you want.

Right-click one thing#

Right-click an image, a video or a link and choose Save to JayBoard. It goes to the active project.

One entry covers all three, and what was under the cursor decides what is saved. On a thumbnail that is also a link — most feed items — the picture wins, because that is what you aimed at.

Where it lands#

Everything goes to the active project, which is the one named in the extension popup. New accounts have one project, Inbox.

Open the library and it is there. A video takes longer than an image: it is fetched and transcoded on the server, and a tray in the corner of the library shows each job's progress. You can keep working while it runs.
